EMPLOYEE BENEFITS 

The health and wellbeing of employees are part of the core values of Canopy NWA. Full-time employees work a 35 hour work week.  Canopy NWA offers the following comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees. Canopy NWA covers 100% of the employee premium for a health, dental and vision plan, an employer contribution to a retirement savings account, and a monthly cell phone stipend.  Canopy offers 15-25 days of paid vacation depending on tenure, 9 paid federal holidays, 3 paid volunteer days, paid sick leave which may be used for both physical and mental health, and 12 weeks of parental leave. All employees have access to professional development opportunities. Employees may have the flexibility to work remotely one or more days per week, depending upon position.

  • The Finance and Administration Specialist is a skilled bookkeeper with exceptional attention to detail, organizational, time-management and documentation skills. This role works closely with the Director of Finance and Grants to ensure smooth operation of Canopy’s daily, weekly and monthly financial processes. The Finance and Administration Specialist will also apply their strong administrative skills to similar tasks in the Human Resources department.

  • Support the organizatioheren’s resettlement efforts by providing local ground transportation for clients to and from specified locations on an occasional and as-needed basis, especially during weekends. Generally, Canopy-owned vehicles will be used. The typical expectation is for fewer than 10 work hours per month, split among 2-4 assignments per month.

  • Reports to: Youth Services Supervisor

    Internship Period: 10-15 hours/week

    Note: This position is unpaid/for credit

    We are seeking a Child Care Intern to assist our new arrivals through our on-call child care program, allowing new arrivals to attend job trainings, English classes, and necessary medical appointments. The Child Care Intern will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure proper training of child care volunteers and participate in child care opportunities.

    Essential Duties

    • Create child care curriculum options for volunteers to enhance children’s English literacy.

    • Provide trauma informed care to resettled refugee children.

    • Assist with training on-call child care volunteers.

    • Be on-call to provide child care at least one weekday per week.

    Education / Experience

    • Must be either an undergraduate or a graduate student for the duration of the internship.

    • Preferred experience working in child care or early childhood education

    Other Requirements

    • Must pass a background check

    • Must complete Arkansas Mandated Reporter Training

    • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and provide proof of auto liability insurance.

  • Reports to: Cosponsor Coordinator

    Internship Period: 10-15 hours/week

    Note: This position is unpaid/for credit

    About This Role

    This internship focuses on supporting volunteers in Canopy’s CoSponsor program, outreach to volunteers, and working with and in our local community.

    Essential Duties

    • Assist with all components of the co-sponsorship program, including the coordination of the Move-In process and assistance conducting trainings.

    • Helps manage inventory of furniture and welcome kits.

    • Coordinates with local organizations about volunteer opportunities.

    • Assists with training of community volunteers.

    • Local travel required.

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to manage small to medium-sized groups of people

    • Moderate level of digital literacy Some level of cross cultural ability and knowledge, with the ability and desire to work with people of other cultures

    • Functional fluency in one or more foreign languages a plus

    • Written and spoken communication skills, able to make presentations

    • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and provide proof of auto liability insurance.

    Education / Experience

    Some college experience is required.
