Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Program

Every parent deserves clear information and caring support as they make health decisions for their family. Canopy’s Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Program helps refugee and immigrant mothers in Northwest Arkansas connect with care during pregnancy, after birth and throughout their children’s early years.

As a part of The Long Welcome, the program supports families as they build new lives in our community.

Support from Pregnancy Through Childhood

Our multilingual staff members help newcomer moms and their children navigate prenatal, postpartum and pediatric care. They work with families to address barriers like language, transportation and an unfamiliar healthcare system, so parents can better understand their options and connect with the services they need.

Our services include case management, doula support, essential items for children, childbirth preparation, postpartum care education, parenting education, car seat safety, safe sleep education, and connections to healthcare providers and community resources throughout Northwest Arkansas.

What Families Can Learn

Through culturally and linguistically appropriate care coordination, families gain skills and knowledge related to:

  • Prenatal and postpartum care
  • Infant and child nutrition
  • Preventive healthcare and vaccinations
  • Parenting and early childhood development
  • Home and child safety
