A Special Edition: Wael Rabeay

In the late spring of 2024, Case Manager Wael Rabeay and Executive Director Joanna Krause sat down over a cup of Chai to discuss an upcoming milestone. In surpassing 800 individuals resettled in NW Arkansas through Canopy, Wael offered his background as a journalist to publish a formal report to celebrate the news. Prior to joining the Canopy NWA team, Wael worked as a Journalist in Egypt for over 9 years before making his way to the University of Arkansas in pursuit of his Masters in Political Science.

The following editorial was created by Wael Rabeay in the a celebration of Canopy NWA’s milestone. We’re so grateful to have Wael on the team, and for this editorial to live on as we continue to resettle refugees for many years to come.
